Consortium
Sports Development
Group ("SDG") is a division of Consortium Realty Advisors, LLC which
specializes in the planning, development, management and marketing of
major sporting and recreational facilities.
SDG is directed by David Branch and Neal Freeman, two of Consortium's
Senior Principals, who in addition to their extensive
backgrounds in both commercial real estate and land investment services
also have significant individual track records in the planning and
development of
sports facilities which are designed as integral parts of
major
retail and
office projects (see Principals' profiles below).
SDG's primary focus involves the successful integration of world-class
sporting facilities into major mixed-use commercial developments.
These sports and recreation facilities often involve the
creation
of unique public/private partnerships with colleges, universities
and/or municipal governments. Properly structured, these
public/private sports partnerships provide (i) exceptional amenities
for the surrounding commercial development (ii) outstanding sports
facilities for the college/university/municipal partners and (iii)
significant economic development benefits for the entire city and/or
county in which they are located, resulting in increased property tax
revenues, hotel/motel tax revenues,
sales tax revenues and increased
tourism spending by players and parents attending tournaments and
sporting
events at the facility.
